The Code, Canon by Canon
A canon lawyer arrives with a citation, not with a date. So the canon is the entrance here: type c. 1095 and this page shows that canon, where it sits in the Code, every act that touched it, and the text on both sides of each change. The acts are the second axis — open one and see everything it reached, from a single canon to the whole of a Book.

The structure of the Code
Books, Parts, Titles and Chapters, as the record places each canon — which is how the Code is used and how it is cited. Nothing here is worked out from the shape of an identifier; where the record places a canon nowhere, it stands apart and says so.

Every act this record carries, oldest first, with its extent beside it. Pascite gregem Dei rewrote the whole of a Book and a later rescript may touch a single paragraph; the counts say which is which before you open anything.
The bodies of law, and no map between them
Where this record carries more than one Code, they are separate lines and they number independently. This page joins no canon of one to a canon of another: any such correspondence is a scholarly claim, and it is shown with its source or it is not shown.

Written by the record itself, not by this page. Silence in it is silence because nothing was established, never because a canon was checked and found unchanged.
